Ronaldo Leads Real Madrid to 3-1 Win in Japan

Ronaldo has scored a pair of goals to lead Spanish football club Real Madrid to a 3-1 victory over Japanese League team Jubilo Iwata in a friendly match in Tokyo.

Coming off a 3-0 upset to Tokyo Verdy earlier this week, Real Madrid grabbed the lead Wednesday on a goal by Raul Gonzalez just two minutes into the game. Jubilo Iwata tied the match at 1-1 in the 23rd minute when midfielder Sho Naruoka drove the ball into the net from deep in the penalty box.

But Ronaldo put Real Madrid ahead five minutes later when he scored off a penalty kick to give the Spanish team a 2-1 lead at half-time. The Brazilian striker closed out the scoring in extra time with a shot between the keeper's legs to make the final 3-1.

Wednesday's match was the fifth for Real Madrid in its preseason tour. The Spanish squad wraps up its Asian trip with a game against a Thai All-Star team in Bangkok on Friday.
