US Urges End to Foreign Nuclear Cooperation in Iran

A top U.S. arms official has called on all nations to end nuclear projects with Iran.

Speaking to a United Nations panel Monday, Assistant Secretary of State for arms control Stephen Rademaker did not mention any countries by name. But the comments appeared aimed at Russia, which is helping Iran build a nuclear reactor in the city of Bushehr.

U.S. officials have been calling for Iran's nuclear program to be referred to the U.N. Security Council for possible sanctions.

The United States and the European Union accuse Iran of seeking to develop nuclear weapons, which Tehran denies.

Meanwhile, Iran's top nuclear envoy (Ali Larijani) warned that his country will do all it can to "endanger U.S. interests" if Washington continues to pressure Tehran over the nuclear dispute.
