Honduran Officials: 32 Dead From Tropical Storm Gamma

Emergency officials in Honduras say the death toll from tropical storm Gamma has risen to 32 in the country, with others reported missing.

The storm had previously been blamed for at least 11 deaths in Honduras as it left a trail of destruction in Central America.

Many homes were buried by mud, and U.S. military and Honduran aircraft flew aid to survivors who had been cut off by flooding and mudslides along the Caribbean coast.

The bad weather was also blamed for a plane crash that killed the pilot and two passengers in Belize.

The storm later weakened to a tropical depression, as it dissipated in the Caribbean Sea.

Gamma was the 24th named storm of this year's record-breaking Atlantic hurricane season.
