India's cricket team has held Sri Lanka to just 235-6 on the fourth day of their third and final test match in Ahmedabad.

Set a victory target of 509 runs, Sri Lanka got 65 runs from Tillekaratne Dilshan and 57 from Mahela Jayawardene. However, India's Anil Kumble bagged three wickets while allowing 86 runs in Sri Lanka's second innings.

India scored 398 in its first innings, then held Sri Lanka to 206 all out. India declared its second innings at 316-9.

India leads the three-test series, 1-0, after winning the second test match by 188 runs. The first match in Chennai was a draw.
