Former Indian Cricket Captain Recalled for Test Series Against Pakistan

update

India's cricket selectors have recalled former captain Sourav Ganguly for a test series against Pakistan starting next month.

Ganguly, India's most successful test captain with 21 wins, had been dropped from the squad for the final test against Sri Lanka earlier this week. However, India's chief selector (Kiran More) said Ganguly's experience worked in his favor.

India is scheduled to leave for the 46-day tour of Pakistan January 6. The first test starts January 14 in Lahore with other matches scheduled for Faisalabad and Karachi. The two sides will also play five one-day international matches.

India won a three-test series in Pakistan 2-1 last year and clinched a one-day series, 3-2. However the two sides played to a 1-1 draw in a test series this year while Pakistan beat India, 4-2, in a six-match one-day series.
