update

Top Kashmiri separatist leaders from India are on their way to Pakistani Kashmir to discuss ways to help millions of survivors of the October 8 earthquake that battered Pakistani Kashmir.

The three-member delegation is led by Umar Farooq, the leader of an umbrella Kashmiri separatist group known as the All Parties Hurriyat Conference. He said his delegation will also meet with Pakistan's president and prime minister to discuss the continuing peace process between India and Pakistan.

In Islamabad, the Pakistani foreign office said the visit will accelerate peace efforts in Kashmir. Foreign office spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam said Pakistan welcomes the visit because involvement and interaction with the Kashmiris is very important in moving the peace process forward.
