American Jason Smith and Sandra Frei of Switzerland have won World Cup snowboard cross-country races in Plan de Corones, northern Italy.
Smith beat Switzerland's Marco Hauser and American compatriot Jayson Hale to win the men's race.
The win puts Smith 11th in the overall snowboard cross standings with 1,700 points. Frenchman Xavier Delerue leads the standings (with 3,372 points).
In the women's race, Frei beat French veteran Karine Ruby and Alexandra Jekova of Bulgaria to capture her first World Cup win of the season. Canada's Dominique Maltais, who finished fifth, leads the overall standings (with 3,690 points).
