Blasts Rock Two Eastern Ukraine Supermarkets

Two almost simultaneous explosions rocked separate supermarkets in eastern Ukraine, wounding 14 people Saturday. At least eight of the injured were hospitalized.

Medical sources say the injuries are not life threatening.

The blasts occurred midday, about eight minutes apart, in two markets in the city of Kharkiv.

Ukrainian officials say the explosions originated in the area where customers store bags and packages.

The extent of the damage to the supermarkets is unclear, but the explosions shattered the markets' windows.

Authorities are investigating the incidents.
