Bomb Kills 2 in Pakistan

update

Pakistani police say a bomb has killed at least two people in southwestern Baluchistan province.

They say the bomb went off Friday outside a clinic and seriously wounded several other people. On Thursday, a police officer and two suspects were killed in a shootout in Baluchistan's Lora Lai district.

The incidents are the latest in a wave of violence across the province since Baluch nationalist leader Nawab Akbar Bugti was killed in a military operation last month. His sons are demanding an international investigation into the killing.

Ethnic Baluch political parties say the army deliberately targeted Bugti. But the military denies the charge and says army officers were entering the cave to negotiate his arrest when an unexplained explosion occurred.

Bugti had been fighting for provincial autonomy and more royalties for the region's resources. He led a heavily armed militia and had been blamed for the deaths of scores of police and soldiers. The government also accused Bugti of running a feudal justice system complete with private jails.
