Philippine soldiers have captured a woman believed to be the wife of an Indonesian militant wanted in connection with the 2002 Bali bombings.
Philippine officials confirmed Thursday that the Indonesian wife of terrorist suspect Dulmatin was captured early Wednesday in the town of Pakitul, on the southern island of Jolo.
Officials say the woman is not believed to be linked to any terrorist activities herself, but could be charged with immigration violations. Two of her children have also been taken into custody.
Officials believe Dulmatin and another Indonesian terrorism suspect, Umar Patek, are being sheltered on Jolo by the Abu Sayyaf, a group of Islamist extremists.
Authorities beleive Dulmatin and Patek are members of Jemaah Islamiah, a regional terrorist group suspected of masterminding the Bali bombings that killed 202 people four years ago.
