Pakistani police say a bomb has ripped through a crowded market area in the northwestern city of Peshawar, killing seven people.
Officials said 31 others were injured Friday by the device that was placed under a vendor's cart.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
Elsewhere, Islamic militants killed two Pakistani soldiers and wounded three in an attack on a military post late Thursday in Shakai, a mountain valley in South Waziristan.
Shakai is considered a stronghold of al-Qaida and Taleban militants who fled U.S.-led coalition forces in neighboring Afghanistan.
