The United Nations Security Council has extended the European Union's peacekeeping mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina for another year.
The council noted in its unanimous decision Tuesday that full implementation of the 1995 Dayton Peace Accords is not yet complete.
It reminded Bosnian authorities that they are responsible for carrying out the agreement. The council also said a full return of refugees is crucial and that international support for Bosnia depends on its cooperation with the U.N. War Crimes Tribunal.
But the council also said it sees what it calls tangible signs of Bosnian progress towards joining the European Union.
The Dayton Peace Accords ended the ethnic fighting in Bosnia in the early 1990s. The EU took over peacekeeping duties from NATO in 2004
