MLB: Dodgers Edge Cubs in 11 innings

The San Diego Padres shut down the Milwaukee Brewers, 3-0. And the Arizona Diamondbacks sent the Houston Astros to their eighth straight loss in an 8-4 contest.

The Cleveland Indians completed a three-game sweep of the defending American League champion Detroit Tigers, taking Sunday's game, 5-3, in Detroit. Los Angeles pitcher John Lackey earned his major league-leading eighth win of the season, leading the Angels to a 4-3 victory over the New York Yankees. The Baltimore Orioles doubled the Oakland Athletics, 8-4. The Minnesota Twins got by the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-2. The Seattle Mariners defeated the Kansas City Royals, 7-4.
