Italian Filmmaker Antonioni Dies at 94


Italian film director Michelangelo Antonioni has died at the age of 94.

Antonioni died at his home Monday night. He is best known for the Oscar-nominated film, Blowup, and L'Aventura (The Adventure).

Antonioni made his major movies in the 1960s and 1970s, but his career spanned six decades.

Antonioni's 1975 work, The Passenger, starred Jack Nicholson.

Many of the director's films examined the subject of alienation in modern society.
