Rap Star Foxy Brown Not Pregnant, Manager Says

update

Foxy Brown will not be giving birth behind bars after all. The rapper's manager Chaz Williams says his client is not pregnant, despite her lawyer's courtroom claims to the contrary.

The denial came on September 12, as Williams and Koch Records announced that Foxy Brown - real name Inga Marchand - will release a new album while spending one year in jail.

Brown, who hasn't released an album since 2001's "Broken Silence," was sentenced on September 7 to one year in jail for violating probation stemming from a 2004 fight with two manicurists in a New York nail salon.

In August, defense lawyers told the court that Brown was three months pregnant. In a September 12 statement, Williams said "And to the pregnancy rumors, this is the official statement: she is not pregnant."

Brown herself does not address the pregnancy issue in her statement announcing the November 20 release of her new album, "Brooklyn's Don Diva." Koch Records representative Giovanna Melchiorre said the first single, "Don't Surrender," will release to radio stations on September 13.

In her statement, Brown says "this is just a temporary situation. I made my bed and have no problem lying in it. My will is steady. What doesn't kill me will only make me stronger."

Brown was arrested last month in the New York City borough of Brooklyn on charges of hitting a woman with a cell phone when the pair fought over the loudness of music from Brown's car stereo. Her other violations include leaving the state without permission and dropping court-ordered anger management sessions with a psychologist.
