A row has erupted between the Commercial Bank of Zimbabwe, sponsors of the Premier Soccer League, and the Sports Writers Association Of Zimbabwe, over the selection of the soccer stars of the year.
The Sports Writers Association is opposed to CBZ's plans to give the power of selecting award winners to coaches and players, instead of the association, which has traditionally selected the winners.
Sports commentator Michael Kariati told reporter Marvelous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe, that the sports writers have threatened to find another sponsor if the CBZ proceeds with its plans.
