Fans Of Zimbabwe's Dynamos Line Up With Players On Bonus Dispute

update

Barely two days after winning the Z$11 billion (US$6,000) CBZ Cup, the Harare-based Dynamos Football Club faces a revolt by fans who are unhappy that management has failed to pay its players their bonuses from the elimination tournament on time.

Fans threatened to stage a protest against the Dynamos management in Harare on Wednesday to show their discontentment at how the club is being run.

Despite the dispute, Dynamos players were reported to have gone to training Tuesday to prepare for their Premier Soccer League match Sunday against Shooting Stars.

Sports commentator Michael Kariati told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye that the nonpayment of player bonuses by Dynamos management threatens to derail the team’s effort to claim the league title, which is mathematically within its reach.

Zimbabwe Football Association Chief Executive Henrietta Rushwaya said ZIFA cannot get involved in the management-player disputes.
