Lee, Kramer, Friesinger Post WC Speed Skating Wins

South Korean Lee Kang-Seok has beaten Japan's Joji Kato and countryman Joon Mun to take a men's World Cup 500m speed skating race in Heerenveen, the Netherlands.

Lee finished the race in 34.92 seconds with Kato 0.02 seconds back. South Korea's Joon was third in 34.96 seconds.

Lee's victory put him atop the World Cup standings with 430 points. Canada's Jeremy Wotherspoon is second overall, 30 points back with Korean Lee Kyou-hyuk third (350 points).

In the women's 1,500m race, three-time world champion Anni Friesinger of Germany won in 1:55.98 seconds. Canada's Kristina Groves was second (1:56.18) with compatriot Christine Nesbitt third (1:56.56). Nesbitt leads the overall standings with 350 points. Groves is second (290) with Friesinger third (280).

In the men's 5,000m race, world record holder Sven Kramer of the Netherlands won in 6:15.26 seconds. Harvard Bokko of Norway was second (6:18.35) with American Shani Davis third (6:21.36). Bokko leads the overall standings with 300 points. Kramer is second with 280 while another Dutch skater - Bob de Jong - is third (208).
