Morgenstern Sails to 6th Win in Switzerland

Double Olympic champion Thomas Morgenstern of Austria has won his sixth consecutive World Cup ski jumping event in Engelberg, Switzerland, and has increased his lead in the overall standings.

The 21-year-old Morgenstern had jumps of 132.5 meters and 133 meters for a total of 260.4 points. Austrian Andreas Kofler was second, six points back (254.4 points), with Norway's Tom Hilde third (252.9 points).

Morgenstern has not lost a ski jumping competition so far this year, and he sits atop the overall standings with 600 points heading into the prestigious Four Hills competition.

Austrian compatriot Gregor Schlierenzauer is in second place, 251 points back. Janne Ahonen of Finland is third overall with 259 points. Defending World Cup champion Adam Malysz of Poland is 10th with 164 points.
