Lakers Horry Shoot Down Kings - 2002-05-27

The Los Angeles Lakers came from 24 points down late Sunday to beat the Sacramento Kings, 100-99, on a buzzer-beating three-point shot by Robert Horry.

The National Basketball Association semi-final playoff series is now tied at two wins each.

Horry scored 11 of his 18 points in the thrilling fourth quarter. Lakers star Shaquille O'Neal led all players with 27 points and 18 rebounds.

The two-time defending NBA champion Lakers had lost two straight games before Sunday's comeback, and looked flat when they were routed in game three. Los Angeles appeared to be on the way to another loss at the end of opening period Sunday, when the Kings were up 40-20.

However, the Lakers evened the Western Conference finals by chipping away, outscoring the Kings in each of the last three quarters.

Game five in the best-of-seven series will be played Tuesday in Sacramento, with game six back in Los Angeles Friday.

The Eastern Conference finals resume Monday with the Boston Celtics hosting the New Jersey Nets. The Celtics hold a two-games-to-one lead.
