A small plane with 18 people on board has crashed in western Nepal, killing all those on board.
The Twin-Otter aircraft owned by the private carrier Shangri-La Airways was flying tourists from the popular trekking and Hindu religious site, Jomsom, to the tourist resort of Pokhara when it crashed Thursday morning.
On board were three crew-members and 15 tourists: 13 Germans, one American and a British national.
Authorities say the plane crashed in bad weather about five kilometers from Pokhara which is about 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu.
Most air disasters in Nepal are blamed on bad weather, including a crash two years ago that killed 25 people, and a Thai Airways crash in July 1992 in which 133 people died.
Torrential rains, floods and landslides have killed more than 500 people in Nepal over the past two months. On Wednesday a landslide killed an estimated 100 people in a small village about 80 kilometers southeast of Kathmandu.
