Cricket: No Decision Yet on Whether Martyn Will Play in Australia-India Match - 2003-03-22

Defending cricket World Cup champion Australia will decide Sunday morning whether batsman Damien Martyn will be fit to play in the final against India later in the day in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Martyn broke a finger last week in a Super 6 match against Kenya.

Meanwhile, Indian team captain Sourav Ganguly says just getting to the final will not be enough for him. He says being on the winning side means more than anything.

Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee sent a message to the players Saturday, urging members to bring home the trophy.

Australia beat India in the group stage last month.

India won the World Cup of cricket in 1983, but Australia took the title four years later, and again in 1999.
