1 Dead in Pakistan Military Plane Crash - 2003-04-12

Pakistan's air force says two planes have crashed while on separate missions, killing the pilot of one of them.

A military statement said a flying instructor died when a locally made Mushak trainer aircraft crashed Saturday, in the North West Frontier Province. It said the co-pilot of that plane was injured in the crash.

The military said in the second incident, a Chinese built A-5 jet fighter, crashed southeast of the capital, Islamabad, Saturday. It said the pilot of that aircraft ejected safely.

The causes of the crashes are not immediately known and are under investigation.
