Renowned director Chen Kaige’s newest film, “Together” has met with resounding success in his native China. “Together” explores the life of a thirteen-year-old violin prodigy and his self-sacrificing father. Chen Kaige recalls the Cultural Revolution, when China’s government was far more repressive than it is today.

Since the film’s initial release, Chen Kaige has won three Golden Rooters, China’s equivalent of the American Oscar awards. “Together” opens in theatres worldwide at the end of May.

Veteran singer-songwriter Eddi Reader recently completed a collaborative project with the Royal National Scottish Orchestra. Entitled “Eddi Reader Sings the Songs of Robert Burns,” the album features Ms. Reader breathing new life into the works of revered Scottish poet Robert Burns.

Eddi Reader drew on her twenty-three years as a musician to help her interpret the works of Burn. Now she plans to take her musical performance of his poetry on tour across the United Kingdom.

The sequel to the 2001 blockbuster movie “The Fast and the Furious” is set to release this month. "2 Fast 2 Furious," stars Paul Walker and musician-turned-actor Tyrese.
Though the film is missing its original star, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker says there's no reason why viewers shouldn't enjoy the sequel just as much.

"It's bigger and better. The driving sequences, I think, are that much more unreal. Some mind-blowing stuff. The race sequences, they're just awesome. I think we're just taking it one step further; I think it's what you have to do when people have such high expectations."
