Volcano Splatters Montserrat with Ash; No Injuries Reported

Volcanic explosions have covered the Caribbean island of Montserrat with mud and ash, but no injuries have been reported.

Officials say the Soufriere Hills volcano erupted late Saturday, and the explosions caused part of the volcano's dome to collapse.

The eruptions sent torrents of mud and rock down on the island's roads, and the weight of the ash caused tree branches to snap.

The Soufriere volcano came back to life in 1995, causing many residents to flee. An eruption in 1997 left 19 people dead.
