US College Football: Ohio State Scores 4th Consecutive Win

Reigning U.S. college football champion Ohio State has won its fourth straight game this season by scoring a 24-17 win over Bowling Green Saturday.

Will Allen intercepted Josh Harris's pass on the final play of the game to preserve the win. Lydell Ross scored two touchdowns and Ohio State's defense was able to hold Bowling Green to 366 yards. Bowling Green came into Saturday's game averaging 575 yards an 51 points a game.

Meanwhile in Manhattan, Kansas, the sixth-ranked Kansas State Wildcats lost to Marshall, 27-20. Marshall quarterback Graham Gochneaur threw a three-yard touchdown pass to Jason Rader with less than three minutes left in the game to lead the Thundering Herd to the win.

In other major upsets, fifth-ranked Michigan fell to number-22 Oregon 31-27, seventh-ranked Georgia was beaten 17-10 by Louisiana State, and 11th-ranked Pittsburgh suffered a 35-31 loss to Toledo. Northern Illinois rallied on the road to knock off Alabama, 19-16.

Top-ranked Oklahoma and number-two Miami were easy winners. The Sooners routed UCLA 59-24, while the Hurricanes coasted to a 33-14 victory at Boston College.

A last second pass in the first half was the key to Tennessee's 24-10 win over Florida. Casey Clausen of Tennessee threw the key touchdown pass in the waning seconds of the first half, and it was enough to change the momentum of the game. Clausen finished with 12 completions in 23 attempts for 235 yards and improved to 11-0 as a starter on the road.

The remaining matchup between ranked teams saw number-14 Iowa cruise to a 21-2 win over 16th-ranked Arizona State. In other games, 13th-ranked Texas rolled past Rice, 48-7; number-21 Washington topped Idaho, 45-14; 23rd-ranked Notre Dame was beaten by Michigan State, 22-16.
