Major League Baseball World Series Set to Resume in Florida - 2003-10-21

Major League Baseball's World Series continues Tuesday with the Florida Marlins hosting the New York Yankees with the best of seven games series tied at 1-1.

The Yankees tied the series Sunday night with a 6-1 win at New York's Yankee Stadium.

The Marlins will start 23-year-old Josh Beckett, who threw a two-hit shutout of the Chicago Cubs in game four and then threw four innings of one-hit relief in the National League Championship game last Wednesday.

The Yankees will counter with 17-game winner Mike Mussina, who threw three innings of shutout baseball aginst the Boston Red Sox last Thursday.

The next three games are in Florida, and only one New York victory will send the Series back to the Bronx. The Yankees have won the World Series 26 times while the Marlins have won it only once, in 1997.
