<i>Good Bye, Lenin!</i> Named 2003's Best European Film - 2003-12-07


The German film Good Bye, Lenin! has won top honors at the annual European Film Awards, which is regarded as the European equivalent of America's Oscars.

The comedy took best film at the ceremony. The film's protagonist, Daniel Bruehl, won best actor.

Good Bye Lenin! also picked up the best screenwriter award.

Charlotte Rampling was chosen as best actress for her role in director Francois Ozon's murder mystery Swimming Pool. Danish director Lars von Trier won best director for his picture Dogville, which starred Nicole Kidman.
