India Defeats Pakistan in Cricket - 2004-03-21

India defeated host Pakistan by five wickets in their fourth one-day international cricket match, to level the five-match series at two wins apiece.

Rahul Dravid and Mohammad Kaif tallied masterful, unbeaten half centuries for India against a wayward Pakistan bowling attack on Sunday. Dravid scored an unbeaten 76 while Kaif returned to form with 71 not out, as India overhauled Pakistan's total of 293-for-nine with 294-for-five in 45 overs.

Kaif had been limited to just 54 runs in the previous three high-scoring games. But he combined with Dravid for 132 runs off 130 balls in the unfinished sixth wicket. The result delighted the more than eight thousand fans who had crossed the border from India to support their team at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

The last match of the series will be played on Wednesday, before the three-test series begins in Multan on March 28.
