NFL: Tennessee Titans Crush Green Bay 48-27 - 2004-10-12

The Tennessee Titans rolled to a crushing 48-27 win over Green Bay Monday, and handed the slumping Packers their fourth straight loss of the National Football League season.

Tennessee running back Chris Brown rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns and quarterback Steve McNair threw for two more scores to lead the Titans in Green Bay. The Titans dominated the Packers throughout the game, scoring on five of their first six possessions. Green Bay also hurt its own efforts, committing four of its six turnovers in the second half.

Tennessee's 48 points are the most ever scored at Green Bay's legendary Lambeau Field stadium by a visiting team.

Green Bay's record slips to a dismal one win and four losses, and severely calls into question the team's chances of making the playoffs. Only eight teams in NFL history have overcome a 1-4 record to advance to the post season. Tennessee accomplished the feat two years ago.

There was at least one bright spot for the Packers Monday in the form of starting quarterback Brett Favre. Despite suffering from a number of injuries, including a minor concussion, he added to his NFL record in making his 213th consecutive start.
