Spanish cyclist Samuel Sanchez has won the 13th stage of the Tour of Spain, but Russian Denis Menchov retained the overall lead.
Sanchez finished the 193-kilometer ride, from Burgos to Ampuero in 4:03:40 hours. Oscar Pereiro of Spain was second, four seconds back with Colombia's Mauricio Ardilla third, eight seconds off the lead.
Menchov retains the overall lead, 47 seconds ahead of Roberto Heras of Spain. Francisco Mancebo of Spain is third overall, 1:53 behind Menchov.
Saturday's 14th stage covers 172.3 kilometers from Nestle to La Penilla-Lagos de Covadonga. The race ends in Madrid September 18.
