England Returns to Top 10 in FIFA Rankings

England's return to the top 10 is among the highlights of the FIFA October world football rankings released Wednesday.

Brazil remains the top team in the world for the 39th straight month with 840 points, while the Netherlands stayed in second place, 43 points behind Brazil.

The Czech Republic moved up one spot to third, changing places with Argentina which fell to fourth place. France and Mexico also changed places, with France moving up to fifth while Mexico dropped to sixth.

The United States held steady in seventh place, while Spain remained at number-eight. England jumped from 11th place into a tie for ninth spot with Portugal, which was alone in ninth-place last month.
