Poland's Malysz Wins World Cup Ski Jumping Event in Oslo

Adam Ma?ysz of Poland has won the World Cup ski jump event in Oslo, Norway, with a total of 279 points from his two jumps.

Ma?ysz jumped 130.5 meters on his first try Sunday and followed up with a leap of 124.5 meters. He finished 2.1 points ahead of Austrian double-Olympic champion Thomas Morgenstern (276.9) and 3.5 points in front of another Austrian, Andreas Kofler (275.5).

Morgenstern made his points with jumps of 129 and 124 meters, while Kofler leapt 126 and 126.5 meters.

After 20 of 22 events this season, Jakub Janda of the Czech Republic continues to lead the overall World Cup standings with 1,149 points. He has a 175-point advantage over Finland's Janne Ahonen (974) and is 241 points in front of Andreas Kuttel of Switzerland (908).
