The organization says requests for about 40,000 tickets were made during the presale on its web site from December 12 through January 4. The U.S. federation has asked world football officials for additional tickets.

At the World Cup, the Americans play the Czech Republic on June 12 in Gelsenkirchen, Italy on June 17 in Kaiserslautern, and Ghana on June 22 in Nuremberg.
