South Sudan Currency Exchange Deadline Arrives

The deadline for people in South Sudan to exchange their old Sudanese currency for the new South Sudan pound arrived September 1st. The government in Juba is claiming that the process was a success in the 10 states of the country, with over 2 billion pounds worth of banknotes exchanged. But people in rural areas are complaining that they were left out, with many now left holding worthless Sudanese pounds.
