The Commission on Presidential Debates has scheduled three presidential debates and one meeting between the vice presidential candidates.
Monday, Sept. 26:
The 90-minute debate begins at 9 p.m. EDT (0100 UTC) at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. NBC's Lester Holt moderates.
Sunday, Oct. 9:
The second presidential debate will be a town hall-style meeting at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.It will be moderated by ABC's Martha Raddatz and CNN's Anderson Cooper.
Wednesday, Oct. 19:
The third presidential debate will be similar in format to Monday's debate and will be held at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. Fox News' Chris Wallace will moderate.
One vice presidential debate will be held between Democratic nominee Tim Kaine and Republican nominee Mike Pence. The event will be held Tuesday, October 4, at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. CBS News' Elaine Quijano will moderate.
The first presidential debate is being held at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, located about 48 kilometers (30 miles) from Manhattan.
