Pakistan Blast Kills at Least 13

Pakistani authorities say at least 13 people have been killed and more than 30 others wounded as a result of a bomb blast at a refugee camp northwest Pakistan Thursday.

Reports say a car bomb went off at the Jalozai refugee camp near Peshawar. The blast damaged several other cars and created a crater at the site.

The blast came as hundreds of people lined up for food rations. The camp is home to tens of thousands of displaced people from tribal areas along the border, who are fleeing fighting between the Pakistani army and Taliban insurgents.

Security has declined markedly in Pakistan since its last general election in 2008. A new election has been set for May 11. This is the first time a democratically elected government has finished its five-year term in Pakistan without being disbanded.
