The fate of President Donald Trump's controversial executive order on immigration is in the hands of the U.S. federal court system and may eventually be headed to the Supreme Court. Trump critics and defenders both see the legal battle as a key test of the president's executive authority and the rights of the judicial branch to hold the president accountable to the rule of law.
