LIVE BLOG: Republican National Convention, Day 3

update

'Make America First Again' was the theme for day 3 of the Republican National Convention, as vice presidential nominee, Indiana Governor Mike Pence, took center stage after other key figures, including: former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, and former Trump rivals Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Florida Senator Marco Rubio addressed the convention.

Pence says the heroes of his youth were President John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. He's giving his biography, talking about his parents and his childhood. TV then pans to his family's box. Crowd cheers his mom, Nancy, and his family.

Similar to when he was announced as Trump's running mate, Pence says, "I'm a Christian, a conservative and a Republican, in that order."

Mike Pence says he's deeply humbled and accepts the party's nomination to run for vice president of the United States.

House Speaker Paul Ryan introduces Mike Pence, vice presidential candidate. Crowd cheers, gives standing ovation.
