The European Union has suspended sanctions on the majority of Zimbabwe's ruling party officials, following the approval of a new constitution limiting presidential powers.
The suspension affects 81 individuals and eight entities.
Reuters news agency quotes an EU source as saying that 10 people, including President Robert Mugabe, remain on the sanctions list -- along with the state-run diamond miner the Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation.
The EU says it recognizes the importance of the referendum and the adoption of a new constitution, adding it welcomes repeated calls for national reconciliation by both President Mugabe and Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.
A new constitution was one of the conditions behind the 2008 power-sharing deal between the two men.
Zimbabwe is expected to hold general elections later this year.
