- Aimed at doubling access to power in sub-Saharan Africa
- The International Energy Agency says the region will require more than $300 billion in investment to reach universal electricity access by 2030
- Power Africa will initially increase electrical access by at least 20 million new households and commercial entities
- The US and its partners will initially work with Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria and Tanzania
- The US is committing $7 billion over the next five years
