Two Members of Greek Neo-Nazi Party Killed in Drive-By Shooting

Two members of Greece's neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party were killed and another wounded in a drive-by shooting Friday in Athens.

No one has been arrested and Greek authorities condemn the attack, which took place outside a party office in an Athens suburb (Neo Iraklio).

Public Order Minister Nikos Dendias says the government will not let the country become what he calls a ground for settling scores.

A statement published on the Golden Dawn website said the government failed to protect its members despite threats against them.

Golden Dawn rose from obscurity to become Greece's third most powerful political party, entering parliament on an anti-immigrant, anti-economic austerity platform.

The government considers Golden Dawn a group of neo-Nazis and has vowed to eradicate it. Police arrested a Golden Dawn backer for allegedly stabbing to death an anti-Fascist rap singer in September.
