North Korea has reported another outbreak of H5N1 bird flu at a chicken factory in the capital Pyongyang.
The World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) made the announcement in a report based on data provided by North Korea's Agriculture Ministry.
According to the report, birds at a Pyongyang chicken factory began to die on March 27.
Earlier this month, the North’s state media reported on an epidemic at a separate chicken factory. The March 21 outbreak resulted in significant economic loss and the deaths of 46,000 birds.
The OIE report said North Korean authorities are controlling traffic inside the country and are disinfecting infected premises and establishments. There have been no reports of any humans infected by the bird flu outbreaks in Pyongyang.
