Florida State Judge Rejects Latest Appeal from Schiavo's Parents

A Florida state judge has rejected an appeal from the parents of a brain damaged woman to have her feeding tube reinserted.

Saturday's decision is the latest in a series of court rulings against the parents of 41-year-old Terri Schiavo, who suffered brain damage 15 years ago. Her feeding tube was removed more than a week ago.

Mrs. Schiavo's parents say they are ending their federal appeals on the issue. They have argued their daughter could recover from what doctors have called a persistent vegetative state.

Mrs. Schiavo's husband says she had told him she would not have wanted to live artificially. The sides have fought over Mrs. Schiavo's fate for years.

Florida lawmakers, the U.S. Congress and President Bush all have all tried to have the tube reconnected.
