Afghan Suicide Bomber Kills 6 at Buzkashi Game

Afghan officials say a suicide bomber killed at least six people at a traditional horse-back game of buzkashi Wednesday in the northern part of the country.

Police officials in Kunduz province say among the dead in the remote village of Basos were several family members of the Afghan speaker of parliament, including his father and brother. At least seven other people were wounded.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai condemned the attack.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but the Taliban regularly launches attacks in the region bordering Tajikistan.

Buzkashi is a popular sport in Afghanistan and is similar to polo except that players use a goat carcass instead of a ball.
