A four-year-old beagle named Miss P was awarded the top prize at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City Tuesday night.

The Canadian-born Miss P won the Best in Show ribbon over six other competitors, including a black standard poodle named Flame, an Old English sheepdog named Swagger, and a Portuguese water dog named Matisse, a cousin of President Barack Obama's dog Sunny, who has won a record 238 titles in his show dog career.

This year's winner of the 139th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is the grandniece to 2008 Best in Show winner Uno, the first beagle to win the Best in Show ribbon.

Nearly 200 breeds and varieties of dogs from across the United States and more than a dozen countries took part in this year's show at Madison Square Garden.
