Equatorial Guinea's ambassador to the United States is suspected of beating his daughter with a wooden chair leg.
Police in Arlington, Virginia, outside Washington D.C. said they were called to the home of Ambassador Ruben Maye Nsue Mangue late Monday. There they encountered the teenage girl with a "significant laceration'' to her head, bruises and a swollen eye. She was taken to a local hospital.
The police said they did not arrest the ambassador because he has diplomatic immunity. But the State Department was notified of the incident.
Police said they were previously called to the home for a separate domestic incident in December 2013.
The State Department refused to discuss the case.
