One of the six jurors who voted to acquit Florida neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in the killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin says she felt Zimmerman "got away with murder," but could not find him guilty when she looked at the evidence.

The juror, who used only her first name, Maddy, told ABC News's Robin Roberts that the jurors put aside their hearts and followed Florida law when looking at the evidence, which she said did not prove murder.

Maddy, who is of Puerto Rican descent, said the case was never about race for her, despite the prosecution's claim that Zimmerman profiled Martin, who was African American. Maddy told Roberts she felt the case should not have gone to trial, calling the court case "a publicity stunt."

Protesters held rallies after the jury of six women acquitted Zimmerman of murder charges in Martin's February 2012 killing.

Martin was killed after a struggle with Zimmerman. The 29-year-old Zimmerman says he acted in self-defense after he was physically assaulted by the teenager.
