Lao, South Korean Leaders Hold Historic Talks in Seoul

South Korean President Park Geun-hye hosted Lao President Choummaly Sayasone in Seoul, marking the first time a Lao president has visited South Korea since the two nations reopened diplomatic relations in 1995.

The two presidents discussed bilateral issues including ways to enhance economic cooperation and boost infrastructure development Friday.

The president of Laos arrived in Seoul Thursday for his three-day visit.

Ties were cut between the two countries for 20 years while Laos was under communist rule.
