Lebanon's Hariri Denies Report on Ending UN Tribunal

Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri has denied a newspaper report that says he will ask a U.N. tribunal to stop its investigation into the 2005 assassination of his father, former Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri.

Mr. Hariri's office said Wednesday the report by Ad-Diyar newspaper was not accurate.  

Media reports say the tribunal may soon indict members of the Shi'ite militant group Hezbollah in the killing of Rafiq Hariri and 22 other people in a 2005 blast in downtown Beirut.

Hezbollah denies involvement and promises a backlash if its members are indicted.

Hezbollah, part of the nation's fragile political coalition,  is deemed a terrorist group by Western nations.
